Epstein Island: Why We’re Losing the Battle to End Domestic Violence
Epstein island, an island off the coast of Massachusetts, is one of the largest male-only reserves in the world.
But just last week, it became the subject of a major court battle over the island’s policies on domestic violence, and now, as the U.S. Supreme Court weighs whether to hear the case, the island is getting some national attention.
The island, which has a population of around 700, has been in a legal limbo for years as the state of Massachusetts attempted to overturn its domestic violence policies, but in July, a Massachusetts appeals court ruled that the island did not violate Massachusetts’ domestic violence laws.
In August, the Supreme Court ordered a hearing on the issue, which could take up to two years.
The hearing is scheduled for November 18.
But the island has had a long history of fighting back against its laws, and it’s now facing a new challenge.
The law, which was originally designed to protect men who are accused of domestic violence but are found innocent, has since been applied to women.
The issue is important for many women who have been forced into abusive relationships, and has prompted a lot of discussion about the need for a more inclusive approach.
“If there is a lot more awareness around the issue of domestic abuse, then maybe people will start to be more open to being involved in their own healing,” says Jessica Schoenfeld, a co-founder of Women’s Survivors Network, an organization that provides support to women who are victims of domestic and sexual violence.
Domestic violence has a long, complicated history on the island, and for decades, there was a lack of information about what it was like for victims.
The U.K. government even passed a law in 2006, which stated that the government could not require survivors to “take part in domestic violence-related programs” as part of their health care plans.
“The government was basically saying, ‘You don’t have to participate in domestic abuse programs,'” says Schoenfield.
In other words, the government was not providing the services that men did need.
“This is the biggest problem for us,” says Schönfeld.
“We know that it’s not a women’s issue, and that we’re not really getting the support from the government that we need.”
In 2011, the U
