Happy Island creator and artist Gilligan Stacey has died.
He was 65.
Happy Island was released in the US in 1984 and has been in production ever since.
It’s the third instalment in Gilligan & the Gang’s series, and its story follows a group of islanders who are stranded on a remote island.
It was a success, spawning sequels and a TV series in the 1990s.
The islanders of Happy Island have always had some odd quirks.
One resident of Happy’s main town, Jellie, has a cat, and the town is also home to a giant fish called Jellys, who can be found in many of the town’s shops.
Happy island is one of the first of the series, which was based on the books by Gilligan, but was also a spin-off of his The Simpsons.
The show was nominated for three Emmys and won a Golden Globe for best animated series.
Gilligan < gilligan the gang are on a search for the island’s mythical island of Gulls, where they discover a strange creature called the ‘Hooded Man’.
The Hooded Man was a legendary fisherman who had a son called ‘Hawk’ who disappeared in the early 1700s.
It turned out that Hawk had a daughter, who lived on the island, and she died before her son was born.
The hooded man’s daughter has been a constant thorn in the side of Happy islanders, and her mother, who was known as the Hooded Lady, is determined to have her son returned to her.
To prove Hawk’s innocence, Gilligan creates a new version of Happy, and sends the islanders on an adventure to find him.
